NDSS 3104. Advanced Sleep and Neurodiagnostic Clinical Procedures. (3)
NDSS major and a grade of C or above in NDSS 3101 and NDSS 3102. Students learn This course explores advanced clinical procedures performed in sleep centers and neurophysiology laboratories. Topics include: patient assessment, suggested immobilization test, ambulatory EEG, actigraphy, portable monitoring, dental sleep medicine, nocturnal ventilator support, and current issues and trends. nerve conduction velocities, electronystagmography, actigraphy, and autonomic testing techniques. Students participate in Laboratory practice sessions provide practical experience in advanced clinical procedures in neurodiagnostics and sleep science. (Spring) (Online)
NDSS 4104. Advanced Physiological Monitoring and Data Acquisition. (3)
Prerequisites: NDSS major and a grade of C or above in NDSS 3104. This course explores the students learn advanced clinical procedures performed in clinical neurophysiology laboratories and operating rooms. Topics include: nerve conduction velocity testing, autonomic testing, electronystagmography, visual, brainstem, auditory and somatosensory evoked potentials and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring and maintenance. Students participate in Laboratory practice sessions provide practical experience in neurophysiologic monitoring techniques. (Fall) (Online)
